We are settled into our mountain home.  The travel from the Andaman Islands to this quiet corner of the Himalayas was epic – a 2 hour ferry ride, a 6 hour flight, an 18 hour bus ride and a 3 hour hike.  This group handled it impressively, with smiling faces and eager minds.

Our plans have changed a little.  There is a big wedding in Agora on March 10th, and we were all invited.  This is a rare opportunity to take part in a monumental village event.  Everyone in our group agreed that the event is more important than extra time to shop and tour in Delhi, so we have adjusted our schedule.

To accommodate the change, we had to cancel our train tickets.  So we rode north by bus and will return south by the same means after the wedding on March 10th.  In our excitement, we also decided to bypass Kuflon Basics and instead go directly to and from Agora.  This means that we will be in the village for 6 nights and days.

The sun is shining this morning and about half the group is preparing to hike further up the valley.  Things are good.

The blog will be considerably more active than it has been for the past few days for the remainder of the trip – our mountain home also means more consistent access to the internet.

WOW Aaron! Really major changes but what a glorious opportunity. Know missing Kuflon is a shame and 18 hrs. on a bus is no ones’ cup of chai! But how special to witness this wedding. Logistical nightmare for you but no one on earth could handle it better than you! Don’t miss the plane!!!

So good to hear from you! I was a bit worried with the news of the earthquake, but confident all was well. Not sure if it had reached you on Havelock.

But Aaron. International travel is all about rigidly conforming to your original plans!
