Today, I was leader with McKinley and I personally really enjoyed it.  We started out the day with some volunteer work at IMAP, where we helped move rocks and build a terrace.  We were carrying rocks and digging them up to build terraces for the trail.  It was a solid hour and a half of us putting in hard work.

I can’t really speak for the rest of the group, but I had a lot of fun doing this.  After that, we stopped by a village on the way back to our house and split into groups to get lunch.  It was interesting because some of us got to the meeting point a little early and met a man who was very friendly and had a nice conversation with him.

The rest of the day consisted of Spanish lessons and hanging out, which was nice because it gave us some downtime.  At this point in the trip, I can safely say that I am having the time of my life.  I graduated from my rehabilitation program about two weeks ago, so I was initially nervous about meeting up with my new school in a foreign country.  But the student and faculty I’m with are so friendly and kin that I’m actually sad that I’m going to have to leave them.  I genuinely think that I have already made connections that will lead to great success and support for the rest of my time at CCS.
