Our first day has been overwhelming and inspiring in a multitude of ways. We have navigated three airports, a bustling city, met Adri’s lovely parents, ate some delicious lunch, grocery shopped in the rain (and even some snow!) and are finally tucked into our beds after a supper of Spanish tortilla (like a potato omelette, not the tortilla we are more familiar with), pan con tomate y jamón (bread with tomato and ham), salad and dessert. While the food was just what our exhausted bodies and minds needed, the stories and laughter with the Familia Garcia Muntión was just what our hearts and souls needed. When we said goodbye, it was with “see you soon” and big smiles. Hope you all at home had a great day, too. We have a few busy days ahead of us and students will be blogging from now on!
