The weather in northern India has been surprisingly predictable for millennia. Farmers have used the timing of the rains and shifts in temperature to plan their planting and harvesting calendar. It has usually worked like clockwork. And that is what has made this one of the most densely populated parts of planet earth.

These days, the weather isn’t predictable. The rains come early or late each time. The storms are far more intense than they have ever been. Snowfall has been below 25% of historic averages for 5 years running. It is much harder to plan and reap the harvest these days.

We can see the change around us each day. In what is supposed to be the hottest and often driest time of year, we have been surrounded by rain and clouds each day so far. And this isn’t the monsoon…

We have talked a lot about bounty and the things you need to feel fulfilled in life during our time here. It’s obvious that this is a place of plenty. Abundance is visible everywhere. But change is coming. Will the clouds always be favorable to the people of Agora and the thousands of communities like it? Will development and climate change alter the bounty?

Sitting in the clouds, these feel like essential questions to our time on planet earth.
